I don't know where to start with the Burger Kitchen. This spot has a lot of potential, but has a lot of issues. Let's start with the staff, the staff here act like there's a Lakers game going on in the kitchen. They only come out to the tables once every 5 minutes or so. Then when they come out they walk around real quick trying not to hear all the customers request. It was kind of funny.
The one thing we all agreed on while eating at Burger Kitchen was that all the burgers tasted bland. Which really suprised me, considering we all got different burgers. Even Veggie D, said her veggie burger was bland. I ordered the Natural burger ($29), this burger is made with Pat la Frieda New York special aged meat. This meat supposedly won numerous awards nationally for great taste, but I have to admit I wasn't impressed. Again, it was was very bland. Not to mention the cheese on the burger was to thick & there wasn't enough sauce. The only thing really tasty was the bun.

I was really excited to go to Burger Kitchen. When they first opened, I would clown the name because I feel that real good burgers aren't made in the kitchen. I had read some of their early reviews and they were not very good so I waited for 6 months so this new restaurant would have time to take customers feedback and improve. When we first walked up, it looked like a nice relaxing restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of space in between the tables. I was excited that they had crayons and a little kids menu to keep my son busy. I thought it was kinda strange that at 7 PM on a Friday night there were only 3 other parties in the restaurant. I should have known. So pretty much everything went down hill from there. They had 2 waiters and a bus boy...why do we call them "bus boys" knowing in LA they are usually Latino men in their 30s. Anyway, I digress. They had a crap load of staff for the 4 parties in there and it still took them 20 minutes to take our order. WHAT THE HEll????? Then they served us an order for another table. Yes Really. Did I mention that there were only for parties in the entire restaurant. Okay let's get to the food. I ordered the sliders called "Everything but the kithcen sink" - one hamburger, lamburger, salmonburger, and turkey burger. It thought I would get the best idea of they type of burgers they serve. WHen I got the burgers there was no mayo, musturd, ketchup, cheese, onions, or special sauce. It was so dry I had to ask for some extra water. I never, never add salt and peper to my food but I found myself looking for the shakers (which they didn't have). I didn't think any of the burgers were good. The salmon and turkey were the worst. My son's meal was just as bad. His chicken burger had a dry chicken patty on bread with no sauce. The service was no better. Have you ever had those waiters that ask you "How's everything?" and then don't stick around for the answer. I couldn't figure out where he was rushing off to. He only had two tables. Maybe he was the chef who didn't have time to season the food.
ReplyDeleteI give this 3 Bites out of 10. It's better to stay home and cook for yourself, even if you are a bad cook.
